Hello Again!

Aloha Everyone!

I obviously am a terrible blogger! It has been over a year since I last posted. My apologies.

I want to quickly update you on my life in nice, short, readable points...

1) I am still on staff with YWAM Maui. I am the DTS Administrator for our Fall 2012 DTS (that is a fancy way of saying I am the "planner" or "logistical queen" of the school we run).

2) Our Fall DTS is leaving for Outreach next weekend! We are sending out a team to Bangladesh, a team to Indonesia/Thailand, a team to Nepal, and another team to a big Asian country that starts with a C ;)

3) I am staying here for Christmas! If you want to send me a Christmas card, let me know and I will give you my address=)

4) I am DTS Staffing our Winter 2013 School! That means I will work one-on-one with the students and disciple them through their lecture phase (Jan-Mar) and then lead them to Asia for their Outreach phase (April-June). I did this last Winter and had a LIFE CHANGING experience. I absolutely loved being able to see the transformation that took place in my students' lives and am more than excited to be doing it all over again this Winter.

I want to share a quick story of something amazing that God did during this Fall quarter....

I have been a worship leader for a few years now and am currently one of the Worship Directors here in YWAM Maui. We have what we call "Base Worship" twice a week here and I frequently lead or take part in it. About a month ago, I was leading and as I was in the middle of a song I had a sharp pain in my back. It was really sudden and I have never felt this certain pain before and found it really strange but just kept singing and playing as if nothing happened. The pain lasted for the rest of the set.

After I finished, an SBFM (School of Biblical Foundations and Missions-our secondary school) Student came to me and asked if she could pray for me because she said she had an encouraging word for me. I said "yes, of course!"  and she started to tell me something very interesting...

She said she had a vision, or picture, of me leading worship, just singing and playing guitar and there were tons of angels hovering over me. One of the angels swooped down and took out what seemed like some type of sword and shoved it into my back...MY BACK! I was having back pain for half of my hour long set!!

I couldn't believe it. She then went on to say that she really felt like the Lord wanted to encourage me in  my gift for leading others into worship. She said she felt that the sword the angel put into my back represented the Word of God. It divides my soul from my spirit (Hebrews 4:12) while I lead and I need not to worry about whether or not I am giving the glory to God or not because my Spirit is! She also said she kept getting Psalm 91 for me, specifically verses 11-12 "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone" She saw me continuing to worship even though this huge sword was sticking through me and then the angel picked me up and just held me. She felt that God wanted me to know that I am so protected and safe with Him.

This student had no idea that 1) I worry every time I lead worship that my flesh gives the glory to myself and not to God and 2) that this September while I was flying home to Maryland a woman on the plane told me she felt like I needed to memorize Psalm 91 and pray for God's protection.

GOD IS SO AMAZING. He is real and He wants to speak to you. Hope this story built your faith and encouraged you. Thanks for all your prayers and support!!!

This is me (in the white shirt) and the team I led to Ch!na last Winter!

I have a lot of fun being the Administrator in the office...

God has blessed me to live in this beautiful place!
