Hello Again!

Aloha Everyone!

I obviously am a terrible blogger! It has been over a year since I last posted. My apologies.

I want to quickly update you on my life in nice, short, readable points...

1) I am still on staff with YWAM Maui. I am the DTS Administrator for our Fall 2012 DTS (that is a fancy way of saying I am the "planner" or "logistical queen" of the school we run).

2) Our Fall DTS is leaving for Outreach next weekend! We are sending out a team to Bangladesh, a team to Indonesia/Thailand, a team to Nepal, and another team to a big Asian country that starts with a C ;)

3) I am staying here for Christmas! If you want to send me a Christmas card, let me know and I will give you my address=)

4) I am DTS Staffing our Winter 2013 School! That means I will work one-on-one with the students and disciple them through their lecture phase (Jan-Mar) and then lead them to Asia for their Outreach phase (April-June). I did this last Winter and had a LIFE CHANGING experience. I absolutely loved being able to see the transformation that took place in my students' lives and am more than excited to be doing it all over again this Winter.

I want to share a quick story of something amazing that God did during this Fall quarter....

I have been a worship leader for a few years now and am currently one of the Worship Directors here in YWAM Maui. We have what we call "Base Worship" twice a week here and I frequently lead or take part in it. About a month ago, I was leading and as I was in the middle of a song I had a sharp pain in my back. It was really sudden and I have never felt this certain pain before and found it really strange but just kept singing and playing as if nothing happened. The pain lasted for the rest of the set.

After I finished, an SBFM (School of Biblical Foundations and Missions-our secondary school) Student came to me and asked if she could pray for me because she said she had an encouraging word for me. I said "yes, of course!"  and she started to tell me something very interesting...

She said she had a vision, or picture, of me leading worship, just singing and playing guitar and there were tons of angels hovering over me. One of the angels swooped down and took out what seemed like some type of sword and shoved it into my back...MY BACK! I was having back pain for half of my hour long set!!

I couldn't believe it. She then went on to say that she really felt like the Lord wanted to encourage me in  my gift for leading others into worship. She said she felt that the sword the angel put into my back represented the Word of God. It divides my soul from my spirit (Hebrews 4:12) while I lead and I need not to worry about whether or not I am giving the glory to God or not because my Spirit is! She also said she kept getting Psalm 91 for me, specifically verses 11-12 "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone" She saw me continuing to worship even though this huge sword was sticking through me and then the angel picked me up and just held me. She felt that God wanted me to know that I am so protected and safe with Him.

This student had no idea that 1) I worry every time I lead worship that my flesh gives the glory to myself and not to God and 2) that this September while I was flying home to Maryland a woman on the plane told me she felt like I needed to memorize Psalm 91 and pray for God's protection.

GOD IS SO AMAZING. He is real and He wants to speak to you. Hope this story built your faith and encouraged you. Thanks for all your prayers and support!!!

This is me (in the white shirt) and the team I led to Ch!na last Winter!

I have a lot of fun being the Administrator in the office...

God has blessed me to live in this beautiful place!

Hello friends!

Sorry it has been SO LONG! I spent a little over 2 months in an amazing Asian country and now I am on staff with YWAM Maui! I would like to elaborate on my time in Asia but right now I have something more urgent to share with you!

I wanted to tell you about a summer seminar we’re running here at YWAM-Maui called Reformation Generation. Some studies say that more than 50% of Christian teens become completely inactive in their faith throughout their twenties; but at YWAM-Maui, we don’t believe it has to be that way! Reformation Generation is a unique opportunity for young people to honestly engage their faith and learn how to not just survive, but to thrive as Biblical Christians in “the real world”.

The Reformation Generation Seminar is a college preparation experience open to high school graduates age 18 and over. The four week seminar running July 3-29, 2011 aims to equip participants to meet the spiritual, intellectual, and moral challenges of their intensely pressured college environment.

For additional details about Reformation Generation, click here to access seminar information and video. Additional promotional resources will be available soon on the YWAM-Maui website!

Please feel free to forward this information to anyone you think may be interested in participating in this exciting summer event in Maui!

I've got some updates

Hey everyone! I am sorry it's been a while, I sorta missed the whole month of October...I've been so busy with school and now we're at the peak of it with a huge Worldview project due next week. We got put into groups of three and were assigned different Worldviews to research, write a 10 page paper on, and then teach the class for 2 hours! My group has Buddhism. Please pray for us, it's not only stressful but can be spiritually heavy at time.
The picture on the Left was taken a few weeks ago, we are circled up praying for our friend Sarah on the beach. The picture on the right is me jumping off of a tree stump! Fun, right?

God has done so much since last time I blogged. The biggest news is that thanks to my incredible home church, Graceham Moravian, I am pretty sure I have the finances to get to Asia next month! Thank you so much to everyone who donated money to me and have been praying for me. It means more than I can say on an online blog. I am so thankful for you and your willingness to support me in this mission. I am overwhelmed with how God is working in my life right now! New things are happening, can't really go into detail on here but yeah, my life is getting more and more exciting. I guess this is what happens when you trust in Him.

Also, a praise report! There is an orphanage in the country I will be going to next month that we are hopefully going to serve. This orphanage is for kids with special needs and just last week we heard that a physical therapist somehow heard about the orphanage and came and bought a bunch of wheel chairs and medical equipment that seriously make a HUGE difference in these kids lives. They were being treated as animals because in this culture they are not valued as high as a "normal" child. This is such answered prayer. We had a night a few weeks ago where we prayed for this specific orphanage so when we heard this news we were overwhelmed. Tears. Lots of tears and tears of joy:)

Thank you for reading and thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I miss Maryland especially with the Holidays approaching but I know God wants me here now and I have a peace. I love you guys!

1st month of SBFM

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a quick update...
I have been in SBFM for about a month now and LOVING IT! I am learning so much about God, Christianity, the World and how to better spread the Truth that is JESUS CHRIST! Can you tell I am stoked for this?!
I am also going to SE Asia again in December!!! God has chosen me and 7 other people here to go to a very special country in Asia that I cannot release online for security reasons...but it's BIG, starts with a C and most things we buy here in America are made in this country...you can figure it out;)
I posted a picture of my team for you! My leaders are Liz and Dan (Liz is on the right and Dan is the back left) and my other teammates are Jennifer from Virginia, KC from Cali, Mike from Texas, Daniel from India, and Richard from Cali. Please pray for us! Specifically that we keep God first and foremost in our lives being that it is easy to get caught up in all the homework and classwork we do all day long. Also for finances, all of us are believing in faith that God is going to provide the money it takes to get to "C" and back. And thirdly, the visa situation is up in the air right now as the government is putting more and more restrictions on applying for a visa. Your prayers are so important to me and I really appreciate them:)

God is so faithful to finish the works He starts and right now He is working in me in crazy ways. This is definitely a refining season in my life but God has told me more than once that He is burning out all the impurities in me because He wants me to look more like Him when He is finished...He is going to look at me as a beautiful new piece of PURE gold and see His reflection:) It's been a humbling time but I am excited for the outcome and there is nothing sweeter than growing closer to the One who knows me best.

I miss you all so much and I can't wait to see you again! Thanks for all the prayers, donations, and just being supportive of what I am doing. God Bless!

Read this!

Hey everyone! I just created this blog to keep you updated while I am living in Maui. I will be doing the School of Biblical Foundations and Missions from September through February. If you would like to read more about this go here:
http://ywammaui.com/sbfm.html

When I get back from SBFM outreach to SE Asia I will be joining staff with YWAM Maui! I am so excited for what God is going to be doing in the next few years!

I recently finished my latest CD, just a 4 song EP of what was going on in my heart while I was away this past year. I am selling it for $5 and all the money goes towards helping me get to SE Asia! I will personally send you the CD (or maybe my wonderful mother will). Here is a link to donate to my paypal account.

Thanks so much for all your prayers, thoughts and donations! God Bless you!
